Family Home, Dartford

Adding to a home can sometimes lead to a feeling of disjointedness between rooms in a house and that is exactly how this family felt when they had finished the large kitchen extension on their family home in Dartford. A small lounge had become unused and the large kitchen space needed to have the finishing touches brought to life and this is where we were invited in to help.

Light and airy

The kitchen family space was light and airy, and the client had already started to work with grey with hints of yellows, so I was only too happy to pick up on those accents as we suggested built-in storage and furniture selection.

Snug Living Room

The living room had a very different feeling; with windows on the side of the house it was very dark. I decided to play with this and create a “snug” living room for evening and winter. The client had installed a log burner, and this became the focus of the room. We played with colour and texture to give an inviting cosy feeling with hits of pink to liven it up.

To finish off both spaces we were invited back and asked to bring the finishing touches by selecting and styling the accessories and books and also helping with the placement of Art.  The snug went from unused room to being in regular use in the evenings and winter and the kitchen family space became inviting.

Invited back

The client was so happy with the results that I was delighted to be invited back yet again to design the master bedroom. Again, I played with colour with a bold headboard covered in fabric by Jean-Paul Gaultier which set the colours throughout with greens and pops of orange.

“It has been an absolute pleasure to work with Phoebe over the last 4 years. I needed help with designing our home interiors after we had built our extension and was lacking the confidence and know how in where to begin the process.

Phoebe is extremely professional and took time to understand us as a family and how we lived in our home. Phoebe was fantastic in designing her schemes around our existing furniture as well as sourcing amazing new pieces. Without her expertise we would never have sourced such unusual stunning pieces. She has an amazing sense of colour and texture and we love all the sumptuous textiles she has used in our home.

I would have no hesitation in recommending her services. We initially engaged Phoebe to design our snug and in the end she worked her magic in our kitchen, hallway and master bedroom. We are extremely pleased with our beautiful, practical, colourful and unique home.”
